Contrasting materials as an identifying image
The building for the new 118 Operations Center, located to the west of the hospital complex, is divided into two levels around a central staircase.
On the ground floor there are rooms for the management of emergencies and macro-emergencies, the operations center and a series of spaces intended for the pilots’ accommodations and other activities.
Instead, the first floor, which is smaller in size, includes offices, staff changing rooms, and technical rooms inside, with two large terraces outside.
The image of the building is characterized by the contrasting combination of the brick color, with reference to local building traditions, for the entire height of the ground floor, with the oxidized copper green of the upper floor and the roof, which characterizes the building in a decisive way with respect to its context.
