Minimization of construction times
The project involves the demolition of the Tolentino Hospital, damaged by the earthquake, and the construction of a New Community Hospital. The project was developed pursuing some main objectives: [1] minimization of construction times, through the management of the demolition and reconstruction phases, aimed at minimizing construction time, also the need to not to interrupt the outpatient service; [2] distribution functionality and flow separation, also taking into consideration the management of any further infectious events such as COVID-19; [3] optimization of construction / maintenance / management costs, through the choice of highly durable and low maintenance materials; [4] structural safety, with particular attention paid to seismic behavior; [5] architecture-systems integration, through solutions that combine energy, functional and aesthetic needs.
